Informix DBA administration

Oninit can provide the skilled resources that customers are often lacking through its range of Remote DBA services.  Remote DBA uses smart monitoring technology to monitor and maintain your Informix system around the clock, and includes Informix 24/7 technical support. Remote DBA+ goes further, including installation, configuration, capacity planning and more. In either case, customers effectively have the support of real DBAs at a fraction of the cost of an in-house hire.

Informix tools

Oninit and IBM have identified the best Informix management and development tools available and Oninit actively uses them to deliver its services. However, if preferred, customers can implement or operate these in-house and Oninit can support and train customers in their use. They include AGS Server Studio for development, AGS Sentinel for monitoring and OAT, the web-based OpenAdmin Tool. OAT came integrated with Informix v11 and continues to be developed in subsequent versions. Informix Flexible Grid is the latest and most powerful Informix administration tool yet, designed to support high-availability environments with a centralised way to set up, define and manage a grid of servers running multiple Informix and other systems. IFG comes only with most versions of Informix 11.7, introduced in October 2010. Oninit can help customers who want to take advantage of OAT or IFG to upgrade, implement and update their licensing.
